I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the HPCSA and BHF. Over the years, I’ve worked across a range of settings, including higher education, the NGO sector, corporate employee wellness programs, and private practice. Much of my experience has involved working with university students, survivors of brain injury, adults navigating life changes, and culturally diverse populations from the Middle East and North Africa. I provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults, and I’m passionate about creating an authentic, non-judgemental space (a kind of safety net) where people can bounce back, and flaws, failures, and victories can safely coexist.
I believe therapy is ultimately about fostering a stronger connection between the internal parts of ourselves that push and pull in different directions, so that we can honour our self-worth, competence, and self-respect.
At the heart of my therapeutic work is the person-centred philosophy of Carl Rogers. This is the belief that people have an opportunity to heal and evolve when met with genuine empathy, acceptance, and understanding.
I work integratively, drawing from psychodynamic, existential, systems, postmodern and solution-focused traditions, guided by my clients’ unique needs, capacities, and goals. I also incorporate process-oriented work, polyvagal theory, and interactional pattern analysis to understand patterns that help explain problems in living.
